Hello, I’m Geneviève!
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a deep appreciation for the connection between mind, body, and spirit. I earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts specializing in Human Relations and Spirituality and a Master’s in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University, integrating emotional and cognitive insight with a holistic perspective. As a certified yoga instructor, I also integrate mindfulness and somatic awareness into my work, helping clients cultivate self-compassion and emotional resilience. As a therapist, I bring a mix of training, real-world experience, and a genuine curiosity to keep learning. I can also relate to what it’s like being on the other side of therapy—my own journey as a client and queer individual has shaped how I show up in this work. My approach is warm and down-to-earth, creating a space where you can feel understood, supported, and valued as you go through life’s seasons.
Pillars of my practice
I view therapy as a collaborative journey of self-discovery, insights, and transformation, guided by mutual trust and respect. I strive to provide an ethical, non-judgemental and compassionate space. My practice is built on three core values to ensure you feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout our work together.
Passion fuels my work, reflecting my deep commitment to your well-being and growth. It drives me to remain engaged, continuously curious, and authentically connected, ensuring I bring genuine care to every session. Being a therapist is more than just a career—it's my vocation. I consider it a privilege to work alongside you.
Authenticity serves as the cornerstone of my approach. It means showing up as our true selves. I bring my whole self into our therapeutic relationship. Hopefully, me being fully me creates a space where you feel safe to do the same without fear of judgment.
Transparency builds trust — I’m open about my process and approaches so you feel informed and supported. Open communication ensures that every step we take aligns with your personal goals and the outcomes you value most in therapy.
Together, these pillars create a therapeutic environment that is not only conducive to personal transformation but also celebrates your uniqueness. I’m committed to supporting you in accessing your inner resources, cultivating resilience, and living a more authentically aligned life.
The Symbolism of the Samara
“A seed neither fears light nor darkness, but uses both to grow.”
01
My logo—a tree samara—holds deep meaning in the work I do as a therapist. Samaras, often known as “helicopter seeds,” are nature’s way of ensuring growth and renewal. They are carried by the wind, sometimes landing close to home and other times traveling far before finding fertile ground to take root.
02
In many ways, this mirrors the journey of personal growth and healing. Just like the samara, we are shaped by our experiences, sometimes staying close to what is familiar and other times stepping into the unknown in search of new possibilities. Therapy provides a space to nurture this growth—to explore, heal, and ultimately plant the seeds for lasting change.
03
Most samaras fall from their trees in the autumn, settling on the ground as winter arrives. Though they may seem dormant through the cold and darkness, beneath the surface, they are preparing for what’s to come. When spring returns, these seeds sprout, bringing new life and renewal. This natural cycle reflects the therapeutic process—there are seasons of letting go, seasons of stillness, and, in time, seasons of transformation. Even when growth isn't immediately visible, deep change is happening.
04
The samara represents resilience, transformation, and the power of small moments leading to meaningful shifts. It serves as a reminder that even the smallest steps forward can lead to deep and lasting growth.
